What is the Elementor text marquee widget?

Each item can link somewhere, items are separated by any icon from the Elementor library, and the loop is seamless: the copy that fills the gap behaves exactly like the original, including its links.

Like every MoxKit widget, the Text Marquee has Content and Style tabs with responsive settings, typography, colors and box styling, and it keeps Elementor's Advanced tab. You can switch it off under MoxKit > Widgets if you do not use it; a disabled widget loads no files.

Key features

  • Unlimited items, each with optional link.
  • Separator icon from the Elementor Icon Library.
  • Left or right direction, loop duration in seconds and item spacing.
  • Pause on hover (on by default).
  • Typography, colors, separator size and color, and a styleable marquee box.
  • Respects reduced-motion settings in the visitor's operating system.

How to add the Elementor text marquee widget

Follow these steps to add the widget to a page. You need MoxKit Addons for Elementor installed and Elementor active.

  1. Open the page in Elementor (Pages > Edit with Elementor).
  2. In the widget panel, search for "Text Marquee" or scroll to the MoxKit Addons category.
  3. Drag the Text Marquee widget into a Container.
  4. Edit the Items list: type each word or phrase and add a link if needed.
  5. Pick a Separator icon.
  6. Under Behavior, choose the direction and the loop duration (higher = slower).
  7. Open the Style tab to set the font size, colors and the box background.
  8. Click Update (or Publish) to save the page.

Tips and best practices

  • Large, bold type (48–80px) on a dark background makes a strong section divider.
  • Use two marquees stacked on top of each other with opposite directions for a dynamic band.
  • Keep items short: two or three words each read best while moving.

Text Marquee FAQ

Can the marquee move to the right?

Yes. Set Behavior > Direction to Right.

Does the marquee stop for people who prefer less motion?

Yes. Visitors who enabled reduced motion in their system settings see the text without the animation.

Can each word have a link?

Yes. Every item in the list has its own link field, and links also work on the repeated copy that keeps the loop seamless.
